Tiered Team-Based Interprofessional Education Learning, A Role Model Similar To The Embryonic Development Of The Human Reproductive System

The reproductive system is one of complex systems in the body of living creatures, including humans. Not only limited to the perineal region, but extends to all aspects of the body, down to the other organs such as glands and brain. Therefore, we can draw conclusions, to support an embryo, it takes a good cooperation between all organs of the mother's body. Like the human reproductive system, it was also the efforts of health workers who sought our current health. An effort to improve the health of an individual is not a personal responsibility, but it is the role of a team.Teams are formed by the combination of the healthworkers, which has been guided in interprofessional education. And the best method of interprofessional education is not just limited to the healthcare scope. For Indonesia, there should be a tiered multiprofessional education.

Multiprofessional education in this context is interprofessional education that covers not only healthcare, but all aspects of life. The principle is based on a tiered level of medical student education: the preclinical, clinical, and postclinical. All three emphasize team-based-learning in interprofessional education.

At the preclinical stage sinergization is done. At certain times in the same block, all healthcare students will study together. The students on the programme will learn basic sciences via problem-based learning and teamwork. Until now interprofessional education programs in preclinical stage has not been enforced in the Faculty of Medicine in Indonesia.

In the clinical phase, there should be restructuring and establishing goals. Case report discussion needs to be done by the healthcare students. At this stage occurs application within the scope of preclinical sciences hospital. In the two-phase boundary at the top interprofessional education of health personnel.

Postclinical stage is paramount: because students not only learn to collaborate with health workers in different types of programs: but also social contact with people and other disciplines. The program has long been applied in Indonesia as KKN(Kuliah Kerja Nyata- Field Work Experience) involving students healthcare students, education, and economics. Here, the role of students as workers look real as community servants. In addition, the proliferation of programs Desa Binaan in various regions can be a good location for applying this multiprofessional education skill.

Indeed interprofessional education is a good concept, which emphasizes the best healthcare for patients. But, this concept should be adapted back to its Indonesia’s demososiographic condition as a country with a low level of public knowledge. The need for service learning that involves multiple disciplines outside of medicine is important. In the early stages, the need to evaluate the early stages, ie, mapping and surveying needs, plan, organize (human resources, hardskill and soft skill), action and return to periodic evaluations to produce a framework of good and suitable for Indonesia.
